Conclusion – why I’m telling this story

In this forum Derek shares some recent experiences. In recent months Derek has experienced some major changes in his spiritual life. He is reluctant to share these because of the perception that in doing so he is coming from ego. But spirit has asked that this information be shared so that others can learn from it. These posts are best read in date order starting at the bottom of the forum and reading to the top.

Conclusion – why I’m telling this story

As I mentioned in the introduction to these postings, I was reluctant to write about these experiences. My main concern was that readers would believe I was coming from ego. I began writing about these experiences before reaching the final destination. Now I feel the need to explain, in a little more detail, why I wrote about these experiences.

In these postings I talk about Dr David Hawkins. It took him 32 years to tell anyone about his experiences. There is part of me that wants to remain silent just as David Hawkins did. But I can’t do this.

In one of his books, David Hawkins talks about the Roger Bannister effect. Roger Bannister was the first runner to run a mile in less than 4 minutes. At the time, it was a common belief that this was impossible. But Roger Bannister proved it was possible. Once the barrier had been crossed, lots of runners began breaking the 4 minute mile. This happened because they now believed it was possible.

The movie and book “The Secret” are also based on this idea. Once you believe something is possible, then it is much easier to achieve.

Dr David Hawkins did this for me. I knew, from reading his books, that he’d overcome the ego. So I thought to myself:
“If he can do it in this lifetime then so can I!”
And I did!

I believe my role now is to share my experiences with others. I want them to think:
“If an ordinary bloke like that can do it in this lifetime then so can I!”

All it takes is a little perseverance combined with desire and the belief that it can be done.

I urge all who read this to take up the challenge – you won’t regret it!

Love
Derek
